L-band Erbium-doped Fiber Small Signal Amplifier

The L-band erbium-doped fiber small signal amplifier (PA amplifier for short) is an amplifier dedicated to L-band weak optical signals in the range of-45dBm to-25dBm. The typical gain of small signals is as high as 45dB and has a low noise figure. It is usually used before photodetectors to improve their ability to detect weak optical signals.

* Note 1: This EDFA product can be used to amplify any single or multiple wavelength signals within the operating wavelength range, but gain spectrum flatness is not considered when multi-wavelength signals are input. As shown in the figure on this page, the EDFA-L-PA-45-SM small-signal amplifier can achieve high-gain amplification of input signals at different wavelengths in the L band. When the input power of a single wavelength is-45dBm, the effective gain is greater than 45dB, and the amplified signal has a background-to-noise ratio greater than 20dB.

* Note 2: ACC mode-automatic current control: The user sets the EDFA pump working current, and the EDFA automatically locks it to achieve constant pump current. When the input optical power fluctuates, the output power will also fluctuate accordingly. It is suitable for all EDFA models. The PA amplifier only supports ACC mode.

APC mode-automatic power control: The user sets the signal light output power of the EDFA, PD automatically monitors and feeds back the output power, EDFA controls and adaptively adjusts the pump to stabilize the output signal, and the power adjustment range in APC mode is usually 10%~100%. The advantage of APC mode is that when the input optical power fluctuates, EDFA will minimize the fluctuations in output power. It is suitable for power-based and line-based EDFAs, but it is not suitable for low repetition frequency pulse signals.
